Phosphea Presents Its Innovative Research at the 57th Swine Days’ Research

📅 The technical team of Phosphea recently participated in the 57th Swine Days’ Research, held at the Palais du Grand Large in Saint-Malo (35). During this event, Phosphea presented a scientific poster on an innovative topic: the supplementation of Lithothamnium, a marine calcium source, to improve farrowing performance and reduce the risk of lameness in sows during gestation and lactation.

Pioneering Research

🔬 Phosphea’s scientific poster highlights the benefits of using Lithothamnium in sow diets. This marine algae, rich in calcium, could play a crucial role in improving farrowing performance and reducing lameness issues, two essential aspects for the well-being of sows during gestation and lactation.

Promising Results

📈 The initial results of this study revealed a fivefold reduction in the risk of lameness (p<0.05) and better piglet uniformity (p<0.05) without negative effects on performance. These promising results suggest that Lithothamnium supplementation could offer a natural and effective solution to optimize sow health.

A Continuous Commitment to Innovation

🌟 Phosphea’s participation in the Swine Days’ Research demonstrates its ongoing commitment to innovation and the improvement of animal nutrition practices. By sharing its discoveries and collaborating with other experts in the field, Phosphea continues to play a leading role in the development of advanced nutritional solutions for the pig industry.
