MDCP

Monodicalcium Phosphate

A flexible solution

Monodicalcium phosphate (MDCP) is often labeled as an intermediary solution in terms of phosphorus and calcium content, bioavailability, pH and reactivity.
Phosphea produces MDCP in granules and micro-granules in our Saint-Malo (France) and Gabès (Tunisia) plants. This raw material belongs to the calcium phosphates group. According to European regulations, its Ca/P ratio ranges between 0.8 to 1.3. It can be used in animal feed for all kinds of species.

A Ca/P ratio around 1

The phosphorus of monodicalcium phosphate is moderately soluble in water (> 65%), this is why it is an interesting inorganic source for ruminants, especially for ruminant micro-organisms.Its acid pH of 4, higher than the MCP pH, represents an alternative for the utilization in industrial processes where the MCP is too abrasive.

Monodicalcium phosphate (MDCP) is particulary suitable for the ruminant mineral feed manufacturers as its medium reactivity allows a proper use during mixing process and its water soluble phosphorus will be available for rumen bacteria.
